The ACCC’s ad tech and ad agency services inquiry has commenced with the ACCC releasing an issues paper and seeking submissions from interested parties. Submissions are due by 21 April 2020.
Digital advertising services inquiry
The Government has directed the ACCC to conduct an inquiry into ‘markets for the supply of digital advertising technology services and digital advertising agency services.‘
An interim report is due by 31 December 2020 and final report due 31 August 2021. An issues paper will be published by the ACCC in March.
Digital platforms services inquiry 2020-2025
The Government has directed the ACCC to conduct an inquiry into markets for the supply of digital platform services. An interim report is due by 30 September 2020 and then every 6 months until a final report is provided by 31 March 2025.
Consumer Data Right consultation
The ACCC has released a consultation paper on facilitating participation of intermediaries in the Consumer Data Right (CDR) regime. It is seeking views on ‘how the CDR rules should permit the use of third party service providers that collect or facilitate the collection of CDR data from data holders on behalf of accredited persons (‘intermediaries’)’.
